Canandaigua Pier Boat Houses

Boathouses on Canandaigua Pier in the winter

The Canandaigua City Pier is the pier in Canandaigua located off Lakeshore Drive/South Main Street, at the north end of Canandaigua Lake. The pier was built in 1848 and was used for passenger steamboats as well as for loading and unloading freight and produce. The Pier is about 1000 feet long with parking spaces the whole way and has a two lane road with a loop to turn around. At the turning circle, there are a few benches and a sign about Squaw Island, which is located about a 1000 feet off the pier. Aside from the historic boat houses, many people enjoy fishing off the pier as well as just going there to hang out or walk the pier. It is sometimes busy on Friday and Saturday nights.
