Waneta Lake

Waneta Lake is a small lake located on the border of Schuyler and Steuben County. It's 3.5 miles long north/south and about a half mile wide, and lies just east of the southern branch of Keuka Lake.

South of Waneta Lake is another lake called Lamoka Lake which is linked to Waneta Lake by a short channel. Waneta is supposedly a native term for "Green Lake."

Both lakes are located in the Finger Lakes Region, however, they are not part of the Finger Lakes drainage system. While the Finger Lakes drain north into the St. Lawrence River system, Lamoka and Waneta Lakes drain south into the Cohocton River in the Susquehanna River system.
